COURSE DESCRIPTION

People with autism frequently have problems with mouth function beginning at birth and continuing into adulthood. These include early feeding difficulties, picky eating, speech problems, and resistance to oral hygiene routines. Learn to treat these and other problems with mouth function through combined sensory, motor, and behavioral methods. The methods are “good and sensible practices” that can be used by the individual’s team of therapists, educators, and parents in a systematic and intensive manner. During the workshop, participants will practice techniques, problem solve actual cases, and see DVD demonstrations. Workshop participants receive a complimentary copy of Diane Bahr's bestselling textbook (a $63 value) and a workshop manual.
